West Bergholt Cricket Club

A week full of fixtures saw Christos take charge of 3 matches, first up hospital arms I. The end of season evening league friendly, a dominant display all round saw an easy win of 59 runs, after posting an impressive 144 off 15 overs. Ducky and Charlie top scoring, while an all round team performance in the field including a wicket, catch and run out for seb after his nose bleed from opening the batting. Oh and another wicket for the skipper! 1 to the good going into the promotion battles of the weekend.
saturday saw the visiting side Frinton put into bat and following the Applin fielding master class Bergholt were always on top bowling Frinton out for just 130. Scoring th winning run seemed to be a feat several of the boys didn't fancy, forcing skip to pad up and knock one into the leg side to the win in just 15 overs, largely down to some hard hitting from Wheeler 79*.
2 from 2 and onto Ardleigh, where there was a score to be settled, losing the toss nd taking the field some very good bowling, mixed in with some filth and lacklustre fielding saw Ardleigh post 190-9. Following the tea, Bergholt went in and were quickly reduced to 23-5, poor shot choices and decision making rather than decent bowling. In came ducky and Dommy who both found the middle of the bat scoring 50 and 56 respectively giving Ardleigh some nerves. Sadly both fell and despite a late cameo from Connor, Bergholt fell short and were bowled out for 160. A tough loss to take especially whe it was gifted. A special mention to Dommy with figures of 9-2-10-5 and 56 with the bat all with a fractured arm. Promotion hunt is still on for both weekend sides, but wins will be vitally important to the season end. 
Dont forget nets Tuesday, some extra practice might be enough to find some late form.
