West Bergholt Cricket Club

Well the Festival is now finally over.

As far as I can tell everyone had a great time so all the very hard work was worth it!  The Quiz was won by the Anglo Aussies, the Sixes was won by Horkesley and Lexden and to top it off West Bergholt had a great quarter final cup win against Maldon on Sunday.  The Kwik cricket festival was a great success and all the children had a fantastic time.

Financially it was a great success.  We still have a few beers and sausages to sell (we could watch the World Cup final on Sunday).  We made approximately £2,500 profit which is a fantastic effort.  We needed the funds to replenish the clubs finances but the committee will also consider ideas to have a legacy.  Obviously we have to be realistic on what we can spend and Tashaq will no doubt be guiding us!

Finally a big thank you to everyone who came along to any of the events and helped in any way.  A very special and HUGE thanks to Wendy and her team,Amanda, Tony, Imelda, Simon, Kevin, Sandra,Drew,Jane and Michelle.  We also had the youngsters helping on the sweet and other stalls so the future of the club is in good hands.  Only 363 days until we do it all again.

There are some other events planned and details will be out later for Bingo and end of season awards.

Let's all hope we can now finish it all off on the pitch with promotion and a cup win!
