Less than 2 weeks to go to the first friendly (Sat 27th) and Village Cup (Sun 28th) matches :-)
A few quick updates ahead of the new season.
Membership Forms
Thanks to those who have already completed and returned their membership forms. Several are still to be returned (you know who you are!) so please could you complete and return these as soon as possible, as without some of this information we cannot register you to play in Saturday league fixtures.
Subscriptions
Annual subscriptions are now due and details of how to pay these can be found in the membership form. The club relies on players paying annual subscriptions & match fees and without this income the club would simply not exist. Also, our club liability insurance policy only covers you if you have paid your annual subscription. Please can you therefore pay these as soon as possible to avoid the Committee having to chase people individually.
Wednesday Evening Nets
As agreed at the AGM in October, we have withdrawn from the Colchester Evening League, with the majority of members favouring regular club nets/training sessions instead. From tomorrow onwards we will therefore be holding regular club nets every Wednesday Evening from 6:30 to 8pm. The whole club is warmly invited to come and we hope to see as many of you there every week as possible.
Match Availability
All senior team Captains are now selecting sides for the first few games of the season. Please therefore spend some time updating your personal availability on the club website as Captains can only pick those that they know are available!

We hope you are looking forward to the start of the new season…not long to go now!
Our first couple of matches are only 4 weeks away and team captains will start selecting sides very shortly. Please could everyone therefore update their availability as soon as possible, as otherwise captains will likely assume you are unavailable.
Pre/Early season fixtures
All fixtures are now on the website.
The Saturday 1st XI are starting the season off with a pre-season friendly against Abberton 2s on Saturday 27th April.
This is followed by the club taking part in the National Village Cup against Little Bardfield Village the next day. Both of these games are at home.
The Saturday 2nd XI team start their season off with a pre-season match away at Boxted on Saturday 4th May and the Sunday XI start the NECL league on Sunday 5th May, away at Coggeshall Town.
Membership Forms
This year we’ve decided to adopt new membership forms which we need all players to complete and return as soon as possible. There are a few reasons why we are doing this this year including:
· improved health and safety planning & safeguarding,
· to collect emergency contact details
· updated GDPR privacy
· to allow us to re-register players with the Two Counties League
This year the Two Counties have updated their player registration rules and we now need to record players addresses to re-register players from last season, as well as new players for this season. This has become a requirement for all clubs, because last year some clubs abused the rules and played players who were already registered to other clubs, under slightly different names. The Two Counties hope that all clubs colleting this information will help avoid this happening this year.
The new membership form is attached to this email and we would ask you to please complete and return this as soon as possible. It should only take 5-10 minutes.
The membership form also details how to pay the 2019 club membership fees, which are due at the start of the season.
New club kit
We are pleased to let you know that Kukri have updated and improved their team kits this year and we now have a brand new WBCC club kit!!
The new kit is available to order now, still with the option of personalising your kit with your name/initials.
Please note, the new kit is a more athletic fit than last year and we’ve been advised by Kukri that players should order 1 size up from last year if you want to have a similar fitting kit to previous years.
